Our Origins

Founded in 2015 as the Global Senior Care Institute, the organisation was established on a singular conviction: that the Caribbean should have access to high-quality allied health education informed by international standards and delivered within the region. Its original mandate was focused and deliberate, senior care education. From that specialised foundation, the Institute began a measured evolution that would ultimately extend its academic mandate far beyond its original scope.

Governance & Foundation

Global Career Institute is registered in Trinidad and Tobago, where its academic and administrative operations are anchored. The Institute is governed by a Board of Directors, providing oversight across academic affairs, finance and institutional governance. This framework supports disciplined growth, academic accountability and the continued development of programmes aligned with the Institute’s standards and strategic direction.

The Evolution

The 2019–2020 period represented a defining chapter in the Institute’s development.

Having outgrown both its original name and its original academic mandate, the Global Senior Care Institute was reconstituted as the Global Career Institute, reflecting a broader institutional vision and an expanding commitment to professional and career education.

As regional demand evolved, GCI significantly expanded its academic portfolio beyond senior care into a wider range of allied-health, healthcare-support and professional development disciplines. What began as a specialised senior care training institution evolved into a multidisciplinary educational institution with a broader academic mandate, an expanding programme portfolio and growing regional reach.
